The Twelfth House

What It Is

The twelfth house governs the unconscious, solitude, spiritual retreat, hidden patterns, and the territory that operates below ordinary awareness. It is the house of what cannot be easily seen or articulated: the undercurrents, the old material, and the things that must eventually be released for the next cycle to begin.

What It Represents

The twelfth house sits immediately before the Ascendant, at the end of the chart cycle, and its position says something about its nature. It is the house of completion and dissolution: where what has accumulated across the other eleven houses is processed, surrendered, or composted into something the next cycle can use.

Solitude and retreat are twelfth house matters.
